This site, smorrison.co, is designed with privacy in mind. I don’t collect any personal information about you unless you intentionally reach out to me.

1. No Google Analytics - here’s why

Unlike many websites, I do not use Google Analytics.

Google Analytics is known for collecting extensive data on users - including IP addresses, location, device information, browsing behavior, and more - often linked across websites via third-party cookies and identifiers. This kind of surveillance is unnecessary and invasive, especially for a simple portfolio site.

Instead, I’ve chosen a privacy-focused alternative.

2. Analytics with GoatCounter

I use GoatCounter - a simple, open-source, privacy-friendly analytics tool. It helps me understand how many people visit the site, which pages are viewed, and general trends without collecting personal data.

• No personal data is stored

• No tracking cookies are set

• IP addresses are anonymized and never stored in full

• GoatCounter is GDPR-compliant and respects Do Not Track

If you have JavaScript disabled or use privacy tools like uBlock or DuckDuckGo Privacy Essentials, your visit may not be counted - and that’s fine with me.

3. Contacting Me

If you email me using the address listed on this site, I’ll receive the personal information you choose to share in that email (e.g. your name, email address, and message).

I’ll only use that information to respond to your inquiry and will never share or sell it.

4. No Cookies, No Catch

This site does not use cookies of any kind. You can browse freely without worrying about pop-ups, consent banners, or hidden data collection.

5. Changes to This Policy

If anything changes about how this site handles privacy, I’ll update this page accordingly and note the revision date at the top.
